Job overview
Full-time with 0.8 FTE (part-time) considered
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Science to join our dynamic trust in one of our Wigan and St Helens academies. This role will be based in only one of either Outwood Academy Hindley in Wigan or Outwood Academy Haydock in St Helens.
Both academies became part of the Outwood Grange Family of Schools in 2022, and as members of that family, we are totally committed to providing the best possible education for every child, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning. The schools have made huge strides since joining the trust, and both received ‘Good’ Ofsted judgements in every category in the Autumn term of this academic year. Both departments are thriving, delivering high-quality lessons in specialist labs. This is supported by our Director of Science and our highly experienced team of technicians. The Science curriculum is exceptionally well resourced and well equipped with access to the most up-to-date classroom technologies to support teaching and learning. To be part of either department at this time is an exciting venture.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Science. You will have good subject knowledge, have a passion for Science, and want students to love Science as much as we do. As a member of the Outwood Family, you will share our vision of “Students First”.
Positions within these schools are eligible for government assistance through the DfE Incentive Initiative (up to £5,000/year), the Early Career Payments (up to £3,000/year) and the Claim Back Student Loans Repayment scheme.
