Job overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic Science Teacher who would like to broaden their experience, who has a strong commitment to raising standards of teaching and learning and who can promote a positive school culture.

Whatley Campus Melbury College is a new SEN school in a leafy corner of Raynes Park, London. We opened in September 2023 and we’re proud to support students with high functioning autism.

We are looking for exceptional colleagues to join our team – could you be one of them? Do you:

-         Have a passion for working with young people and their families

-         Have a genuine desire to improve the lives of some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in London

-         Want to work with like-minded colleagues who put children at the centre of everything they do

-         Consider yourself to be patient, compassionate, determined, kind, rigorous and hard-working

-         Believe that education is about facilitating academic progress, personal development and life skills in a nurturing, structured environment

-         Actively seek out ways to improve your practice

-         Want to learn from children, as well as enable them to learn from you

If the answer is ‘YES!’ we can offer you:

-         A wonderfully supportive family of teaching, support, therapy and admin staff

-         No more than 10 students in a class

-         Young people who want to be in school and enjoy their time with us

-         Supportive parents

-         A huge building, redesigned and fully renovated to our specific requirements

-         Brand new, bespoke SEN facilities and resources

-         On-site parking and secure cycle storage

-         On-site gym (after hours)

-         An extensive staff wellbeing programme

-         A train station 5 minutes’ walk away (Wimbledon Chase)

-         Weekly CPD

-         Career progression within Whatley as we continue to grow, and across Melbury College

-         For non-teachers - a fantastic stepping stone for careers in psychology, caring professions, therapeutic roles, teaching

Look us up, get in touch, drop in for a visit, or simply apply. We’d love to meet you!

Melbury College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS, reference checks and online checks. We reserve the right to close the position early for the right candidate.
