Job overview

I am currently looking to recruit a passionate Science teacher with Chemistry specialism to start in August 2020!

This role requires the teaching of IGCSE separate Sciences to Years 9 to 11 and would ideally include the teaching of A-Level Chemistry as well. The successful applicant would also be a form tutor and would be expected to be an integral member of both the Science Faculty and wider Upper School team.   

The vacancy coincides with the planned expansion of an Upper School which will move onto a new site with completely new facilities in September 2020. The post holder would teach in a brand new, dedicated 60 square metre laboratory and form part of a seven-member strong Science team. Combined with this is our school-wide improvement objective of raising the profile of technology in teaching and learning across all subject areas. 

You will need:

  • min. BA in Science/Chemistry
  • PGCE or equivalent in teaching Sciences across KS3 to KS4 as well as of teaching Chemistry at all levels.
  • Experience in preparing students for public examination 
  • Experience as an Assistant Examiner would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish language would be an advantage but is not essential.
