We are calling for applications from suitably qualified teachers who are passionate about joining the Genesis teaching community to teach Science from years 7 – 10. This is a Full Time position. 


To be successful, you will have:

  • QCT Registration (or eligibility)
  • Demonstrated Teaching experience
  • Knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices and assessment strategies appropriate to secondary schooling
  • Familiarity with the QCAA syllabuses
  • Experience in curriculum development which meets the requirements of the Australian National Curriculum.
  • First Aid Certification
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work proactively within a collaborative teaching team
  • An active Christian faith.


In addition you will have a commitment to the aims of an Independent Christian School, quality customer service skills when interacting with parents and the wider community and the ability to develop, write and edit quality reports.

Genesis Christian College is a mixed, non-selective, Christian, all-through independent school in Queensland, serving students from the age of 4-18. The all-through school is situated in Bray Park. There are approximately 1,500 students on roll, and 160 members of staff.

Genesis Christian College opened in 1991. The school has a strong Christ-centred focus and believes in maintaining strong relationships between staff and parents to ensure a successful and positive learning environment for all.

The all-through school boasts modern learning facilities, including a two swimming pools, dance, music and drama rooms, art blocks, science laboratories, computer suites, sports courts, a library and an agricultural science farm.

Curriculum

Genesis Christian College offers a broad and balanced learning curriculum across the year groups, with dedicated teaching staff working to nurture individuals' skills and talents so that everyone is able to reach their full potential. Additional support is available for pupils with learning difficulties, while careers advice and work experience opportunities are provided for older pupils. In Year 11, Vocation Educational and Training (VET) programmes are offered as part of the syllabus, offering a career-focused practical pathway. A wide range of extracurricular activities, ranging from sports to drama club, are also available for pupils to get involved with new experiences outside of the classroom.
