This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking school with an established reputation for innovation and excellence. We are looking for a dynamic and highly capable Science Technician to join our popular and successful department. This post is offered as a permanent contract starting Autumn Term 2023 or earlier if available.

The successful candidate will have excellent time management and organisation skills. The Science Technician will be able to coordinate requests for practical resources and facilities, supporting with assistance and advice with excellent scientific knowledge, to meet the needs of the science curriculum and develop our inventive and creative Science Faculty. They will have a strong understanding of health and safety and be able to support in the development and innovation of new processes to promote a passion for learning and discovery with our students.

Collegiate is a thriving co-educational day school on the outskirts of Bristol, easily accessible from the motorway network and with approximately 800 students aged from 3 to 18. The Senior School occupies a glorious thirty acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site.

We are proud of our high academic standards and our innovative approach to the development of teaching and learning across the school and we value the range of opportunities we provide for our pupils outside the classroom. In our recent ISI report the school was judged excellent in all areas; raw examination results are consistently good, value-add scores are high and we have waiting lists in most year groups.

The hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am till 4.30pm, during all of school term time plus INSET days (35 weeks). 

You will receive a salary from £17,559 to £20,319 per annum, (NJC pay scale point 8 £22,777 FTE to NJC pay scale point 16 £26,357 FTE), depending on experience and qualifications. Other benefits include 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays per year based on full time hours, lunch during term time, free parking on site, a defined contribution pension scheme and staff remission on school fees in accordance with the staff remission policy.

We are a thriving and happy co-educational day school for pupils aged 3 to 18, located just north of Bristol. At Collegiate we have approximately 800 pupils, with our Preparatory School accommodating pupils from Nursery to Year 6, and the Senior School accommodating students from Year 7 up to our Sixth Form.
