Job overview
The Role
We are seeking a technician and enthusiastic colleague to take on this key role within the St Ivo Academy Science Department.
The role is suited to someone with technical skill, good knowledge of science and who understands the importance of communication and teamwork. They will also be committed to offering our students a first-rate practical experience as they learn and develop their scientific skills.
As our Science Technician, you will be:
- Assisting in practical preparation, including materials, equipment, stock, standard solutions and specimens
- Setting up, testing and demonstrating practical equipment to ensure that students gain the most from the scientific experience
- Assisting in the training of staff regarding practical work and best practices
We are looking for individuals who have:
- Good knowledge of basic science
- Some experience of a laboratory environment or similar
- Worked in a science laboratory and routinely used chemicals
