Science Technician

We are seeking applications from dedicated and hardworking professionals with a desire to work in a successful, thriving and supportive 11–18 Academy making a positive contribution to our Science department as a Science Technician. Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given for the right candidate. 

To be successful, you will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and a genuine desire to help contribute positively to the life of our young people. This is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as part of their career development. 

We are a mixed 11–18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 835 students. Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools. This is the start of a new era for Uplands and an excellent time to join our thriving rural school.

This role is part-time, 20 hours per week, term time only. This role is paid on Single Status Grade 5, currently £21,968 - £22,368 per annum full-time equivalent. Days and times can be discussed.
