Job overview

Due to the retirement of our current Science Technician, we are currently seeking to recruit a new member of the Science team, to take on responsibility for managing and preparing all the resources required to run an effective and efficient Science department.  

Demonstrating accuracy and a methodical approach to working, with an excellent knowledge of the Health and Safety requirements inherent in working with the chemicals and other resources used in a busy Science department, the successful applicant is likely to have held a similar role in a school, college or in industry.

The practical aspect of Science is a hugely important part of our teaching here at Sherrardswood and our Science technician will need to be an ‘unflappable’ team member.  The role includes many aspects including, stock management, ordering, maintenance of equipment, ordering to a budget, liasing with the teachers to ensure that they have the resources that the need, on time and safely delivered and also managing the Health and Safety requirements of the Prep room.  

The Science department is a large and happy team that look forward to welcoming a new member on board.
