We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person to join our existing team.  You will assist in the enhancement of the teaching and learning environment of the school for the benefit of the students by providing specialist practical support to the teaching staff in our busy Science department. This is primarily achieved by ensuring that equipment and materials are available and set up in the school laboratories to enable practical work to be carried out safely, promptly and efficiently.

The work is varied, rewarding and an exciting opportunity to help in the delivery of education to students. Experience or a Science background is preferable but not essential and training will be given if necessary.

The successful applicant will be efficient and be able to use their initiative. At times the work involved is fast paced and an ability to work part of a team is essential.

We will offer you a positive and innovative learning culture supported by students, staff, parents and governors. You will be part of a hardworking and supportive team of staff with capacity and commitment to raise student achievement even further. In our most recent Staff Opinion Survey 99% of staff are proud to work at Tring School.

Staff well being is important to us and we have an active WellBeing team who provide initiatives throughout the year and all staff have free access to an Employee Assistance programme and receive high quality CPD opportunities, 97% of staff feel they have the skills and training to do their job well.

Tring School is popular and over-subscribed, serving the town of Tring and the surrounding villages. It is a mixed Church of England all-ability school, 1500 on roll, over 300 Post-16. Academic attainment is well above average and improving year on year. The school strives to support and encourage individual growth within a caring community. We have a talented team of staff who are ambitious to become outstanding in all areas of our work. Ofsted Inspection November 2017 stated: ‘Pupils are highly motivated to learn.' ‘Teaching is good overall with outstanding features.’

A comprehensive induction programme will be provided, with opportunities for further training and personal development.

To apply, download the application form from the Tring School Vacancies page and send the application form along with a cover letter to Mrs M Hutchinson at hr@tringschool.org.

Applications will be reviewed on receipt. The School reserves the right to appoint a candidate to this post at any stage in the selection process.

Closing date: Friday 21 February 2020

Interview date: 27 February 2020

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and two professional references.
