Queen’s Gate is an independent day school offering an excellent all-round education to girls from 4 to 18. We are a relatively small school with just over 500 pupils, but one which is rich in tradition and at the same time abundant with the energy and spirit of the 21st century.  Science is taught throughout the School, with separate Sciences in the Senior School. Our girls achieve very good results in the Sciences with a number reading Science or Science related subjects at University. We have six Science laboratories which are modern and well-equipped. 

We wish to appoint a Science Technician to support the teaching and learning in our Science   Department from KS3 to A-level.  This will include preparation and maintenance of resources and equipment under the instruction of teaching staff.   

The position will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during term-time, but limited work will be required at the beginning and end of each term.  Salary will be commensurate with experience. 

The successful applicant will be educated to A-level or equivalent in a Science subject, preferably Physics.  A degree specialism in Science or a Science background would be preferable.  Proven experience of working in a Physics Laboratory is essential.  The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and have the ability to prioritise busy workloads and work effectively under pressure.

About Queen's Gate School

Queen's Gate School is an all-through independent day school for girls aged 4-18, housed in five Victorian buildings in South Kensington, London. There are around 500 pupils on roll, with a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the city.

Queen's Gate School was founded in 1891 by Miss Eleanor Beatrice Wyatt in her parents' home. The present site was acquired in 2005. The school is an educational trust overseen by a board of governors.
