We are committed to continuous professional development and have wide-ranging training and development opportunities.

We have a large, thriving science department, in which students in all year groups enjoy learning through practical work thanks to the current team of three full-time technicians. Due to increasing numbers of students studying science, we are seeking to expand this team in 2019.

We wish to appoint a Science Technician to join the team for 37 hours per week, term-time only + 1 INSET Day. There may be flexibility about these hours, which can be discussed at interview. We are interested in applicants who are keen to work in a school environment and who are willing to learn. Any relevant experience would be advantageous but a background in science is not required and a full programme of training will be available.

Outline of tasks include:

• assist in preparation of practical resources and textbooks for classroom teaching

• clean, wash, organise and repair classroom equipment

• assist with stock-taking and ongoing maintenance of apparatus and equipment

• work to excellent standards of health and safety, according to relevant policies and procedure
