Job overview

Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge is a small school but with a big heart. Since joining the Maiden Erlegh Trust in 2018 the school has seen a marked change in its fortunes and is now known for its calm classrooms, strong focus on behaviour and well-developed teaching and learning. Additionally, we are very proud that our wonderful school was recently been part of a successful bid by the Maiden Erlegh Trust to become one of only 22 behaviour hubs, supporting Schools nationally.

With all this in mind, we are now seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and suitably experienced Science Technician to join a thriving and supportive Science department.

The key aspects of this technician role involve co-ordinating the use of the practical resources and facilities within the Science department to support the curriculum, as well as working with the Head of Department.

You will be able to communicate effectively, with the ability to work well alongside pupils and teaching staff, working collaboratively across the entire school

You will bring with you an interest and passion for Science, coupled with good organisational skills and patience. You will share our inclusive values of “opportunity, diversity and success for all” and you will have a willingness to develop your own practice in line with our ethos of continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will need a proven background in Science, ideally with a qualification in this area too.

This post will be part-time and a job share and will ideally be either 2 days a week working between 10 and 12 hours.

Visits to our school are difficult at the moment, but please email recruitment@maidenerleghtrust.org who can help with any questions you may have.

Closing date: 9am, Monday 24 January 2022

Interviews: to follow shortly after

The Trust reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date.

Maiden Erlegh Trust is an Ethical Leadership Pathfinder organisation and we are committed to safeguarding, equality and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We are also committed to having the highest expectations of pupil/students and staff, and supporting everyone to reach their full potential. All employees of the school and Trust are expected to share these commitments. All posts require satisfactory employment checks and references and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. All Leadership roles will require a Section 128 check.
