We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Science Technician to contribute to the development of our STEM specialist Academy. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and excited about working in an experienced team in a large department. Please note that part-time requests will be considered.
The role will involve undertaking a wide range of duties needed to enable the teaching staff to deliver the curriculum effectively. We are seeking an individual who is competent with preparing and providing science equipment for lessons, assisting with maintenance of Science Department administration system and assisting with practical lessons, assessments, examinations or demonstrations. Maintenance of supplies and equipment is essential, stock take and replacing as and when required, ensuring all chemicals, materials and apparatus are stored safely and securely - including hazardous chemicals. This role will suit outgoing personalities who are looking for an exciting and rewarding role, and are able to develop a good rapport with staff and students.
Working closely with teachers and educational support staff across science and under the guidance of Curriculum Leaders, you will learn and develop your own knowledge base and gain first-hand experience in supporting students. Knowledge and/or experience of school level science (GCSE and A level) is essential.
