The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth. An opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join the Science Department on a temporary basis to cover long term absence. The role will be predominantly based in the Biology Department, but the post holder will be required to support in Physics and Chemistry as required.

The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a laboratory and/or have a relevant qualification in a biological or physical science.

The provisional start date is late June 2016 and we anticipate the post will continue into the next academic year.
Science Technicians work 37.5 hours a week, term-time only. The daily hours of work are 8.30am to 4.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak.

ISI Report 2022

During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
