Our science department was graded “Outstanding” by the College SAR validation panel. We offer a wide range of science courses for adults and young people including GCSE and Access courses for adults, and BTEC Applied Science.


Type of Contract: Full time Science Technician (term time only 40 weeks per annum)

Location: Redbridge Campus (Little Heath)

Salary: £20,473 per annum (pro-rata of £23,265)

Start Date: ASAP


We are looking for a technically qualified and experienced person to provide an effective and efficient technical service to science teaching.


You will prepare apparatus, materials and solutions, set up, and check equipment and apparatus for use in practical classes, assessment and exams. You need to be a team player, well organised, capable of multi-tasking and possess a full range of science technician skills. Good chemistry knowledge would be preferred.


The Science Department is accommodated in facilities including four laboratories and two preparation rooms. Our students are a balance of young people and adults studying GCSE, BTECs and vocational applied science courses at levels 2, 3 and 5, including Access to HE courses and Higher National Diploma in Applied Biology. Results at all levels are very high.  We have an excellent record of preparing students for scientific and medical careers.  The technician support provided by for the practical element of courses is good (Ofsted, December 2015).

Welcome to our Redbridge campuses. We have two campuses in Redbridge – at Chadwell Heath, near to the King George Hospital and at International House, in Ilford town centre.

Students at Redbridge can choose to study a range of vocational qualifications such as BTECs for instance.
