Richmond Park Academy is part of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) and an increasingly successful academy, with growing numbers and 2 recent ‘good’ Ofsteds, one section 5 and one English specific.

We are on a journey to excellence and are seeking staff to join us on this journey as we expand in the lower school and, at the same time, building up our new 6th form, which opened in 2014. Our £10 million new build/refurbishment project was completed in August 2014, providing a very modern infrastructure within attractive, traditional buildings and landscaped grounds. Staff are welcoming of colleagues and enthusiastic about ‘making their best better’ so that classroom practice is rapidly improving with a high proportion of good and outstanding teaching. Students are lively, diverse and interesting.

We are looking to appoint a Science Technician to prepare equipment for lessons in Biology, Chemistry and Physics from Year 7 to 13. You will be jointly responsible for all preparation rooms and laboratories in the faculty, including safety checks and the clearing away and washing up of apparatus from lessons. The successful candidate will have at least one Science ‘A’ Level, preferably Biology, or an NVQ or other specific lab technician qualification. You will also have previous experience as a lab technician.

The Science labs were updated as part of our refurbishment programme, so the facilities are 1st class. The Sciences are becoming popular choices for ‘A’ level, so the technicians will be involved in an expanding department.

Asthe sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme, childcare vouchers and Westfield rewards.

The position is required from 1 September 2017. Interviews are scheduled to take place on Monday 26 June 2017.

Closing date: Wednesday 21 June 2017 @ 9:00am.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.
