We have a vacancy for a versatile, skilful and dedicated Science Technician to provide high-quality support to a large, dynamic and successful team of teachers. The main focus of this post is to provide support for Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 based at our Lower School site.

The successful candidate will have:

     -  a strong Science background

     -  a wide range of excellent practical skills

     -  strong organisational ability

     -  a genuine interest in education and young people. 

Science plays a prominent part in the life of the School and consistently achieves excellent results. The Science Faculty has nineteen members of staff and four laboratory technicians. Teaching accommodation is excellent – at Lower School we have five laboratories and at Upper School there is a STEM Centre built in 2012. The Stem Centre includes eight fully equipped laboratories and two computer rooms. There is effective and high quality technical and administrative support and the Faculty is well resourced.

King Edward VII School is a mainstream, state-community, co-educational, non-denominational, secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and it has over 1700 pupils on its roll, including over 600 in Sixth Form.

Students say they feel safe in school and behaviour is good; inspection findings confirm this. The vast majority are proud of their school. Attendance has improved and is now above average.
