Job overview

We require a Science Technician to provide technical and administrative support for teaching staff in the delivery of high quality laboratory services at Three Rivers Academy.

The role will include preparing and setting up equipment to support teaching staff in undertaking demonstrations and experiments and to manage the safe acquisition, storage and disposal of equipment and chemicals used in the delivery of the science curriculum.

Key skills required: 

  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and Science A Level.

Year 11 students are celebrating a combined percentage of 60% Grade 4 and above in English and Maths – a fantastic 15% rise in just over one year of leading the school.

Three Rivers Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Hersham, Surrey. There are approximately 924 students at the school between 11-18 years.    

Formerly Rydens School, Rydens Enterprise School and Sixth Form College converted to academy status in 2012. The school opened in 1954.

Healthy living is supported effectively through sports and extra-curricular activities as well as in physical education and food technology lessons. The school has developed good links with other post-16 providers so that pupils receive a range of appropriate careers advice and support".
