The Magna Carta School is seeking to appoint a part-time science technician. This is a varied role which will involve providing teaching colleagues with apparatus, chemicals and resources to support the delivery of routine demonstrations and to enable students to undertake practical work within the classroom. As a Science Technician you will be required to work in accordance with strict health and safety guidance and procedures ensuring that a healthy, safe and productive learning and teaching environment is maintained. Full training will be provided where required.
You will be joining a highly successful and experienced team of Technicians, working as an integral part of the Science Faculty. This role is for five days per week, 5 hours per day from 8.30am-1.30pm. The school are also advertising an additional part-time role of Library Manager that may be a further opportunity for the successful candidate.
A calm, friendly and helpful manner is essential as is the ability to adapt and be flexible to the requirements of the Science Department.
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
• knowledge and experience (training will be provided) to efficiently support the setting up of science practicals
• Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team.
• Be passionate about the students' learning and welfare.
