We have an opportunity to join our three-strong team of Science Technicians (including a Senior Technician) working alongside a teaching staff of 14 across the Science department.

The successful candidate will join a supportive, committed and experienced team of Technicians who work hard to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of innovative and enjoyable lessons, providing advice and support to the students and teachers. The position is ideally 35 hours per week, term time only. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.00/4.30pm; final details to be discussed with successful applicant. The actual starting salary for role, based on 35 hours per week, 38 weeks per year is £16,247.

The results in 2019 and 2018 placed us in the top 10% of science results nationally for GCSE and the sciences are a popular choice at AS and A Level with students studying the three subjects following the AQA specifications. The 2020 results were centre assessed grades (CAGS) and were in line with the outstanding results in previous years. The department achieves high academic success with many of our A Level students going on to higher education courses in Science, Technology and Medicine.

An enthusiasm for learning and a love of Science are essential requirements of the job. Qualifications and previous experience are desirable, but full training and support will be given to the right candidate.

Hinchley Wood School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school based in Surrey, for students between the ages of 11 and 18. It gained academy status in 2012 and multi academy status in 2019 - Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership.  In October 2019 Hinchley Wood Primary School joined the Partnership.
