Science Technician

Part Time – 25 hours per week 

Term Time only post plus INSET days 

Salary: SCP 3-4 (£10,766 to £10,981 per annum)

We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician who will work alongside the Lead Science Technician and Science department to provide full technician support in the preparation, cleaning and clearing of lesson materials. This role will also include some administrative tasks when requested. Daily hours are flexible within the school day of 8.30am – 3pm. 

The role will include: 

• Efficient preparation and organisation of equipment for lessons 

• Cleaning of equipment and laboratories after each lesson 

• Ensuring safe storage of chemical stocks 

• Making up standard laboratory solutions within health and safety guidelines

• Assisting teaching staff and students in practical work when required 

We are looking for a person who has:

• Experience of working within an education setting 

• An understanding of the Science 

• Ability to follow health and safety guidelines 

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work to deadline, using your own initiative and able to work collaborative as part of a team
