Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls, part of the PolyMAT multi academy trust, is an all-inclusive girls’ school, the latest addition to the Trust and sister school to Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys. We are currently looking for a dynamic, passionate and inspirational Maths teacher, who has excellent subject knowledge and is able to contribute to continued improvements in progress and student attainment.  The role would suit an experienced practitioner looking for a new challenge. This is an opportunity to join an enthusiastic group of Maths teachers who enjoy working together like a family unit. 

The department works collaboratively in producing outstanding lesson resources which are effective for mastery teaching and make the most use of lesson time. We promote independence in the girls both during and out of lessons. We use online platforms such as Hegarty maths for homework which is incredibly popular within the school. The pupils enjoy coming to their maths lessons and as such, are a pleasure to teach. Our department vision is to be the best maths department in London, so we are looking for an inspirational teacher who is committed to working with the department to help make that possible. 

As such, the Maths Department are seeking to appoint someone to join the team who:

• exudes passion, creativity and has a thirst for knowledge.  

• is a well-organised, proactive and innovative individual

• is eager to engage with research and implement this in their own pedagogy. 

• has experience in teaching Maths up to KS4 and will be open to teaching KS5 as the school grows. 

• welcomes feedback and readily offers constructive support to their colleagues. 

• Engages with the extra-curricular activities we offer to our students
