In September 2012 Isaac Newton Academy opened with its inaugural cohort of 180 year 7 students. The secondary school is growing, year on year, to become an 11-18 academy of 1250 students with specialist status in mathematics and music. In 2014 the primary phase opened, welcoming 90 reception-aged pupils. This too will expand each year until full in 2020.

In June 2014 the school was judged to be outstanding in all categories by OFSTED.

We are looking for an inspiring and inclusive music teacher.  We devote 2 hours of curriculum time each week to music at KS3. Every student at KS3 learns an instrument which they can keep for 3 years.  On average 24% of students elect to take music GCSE (four times the national average) achieving fantastic results (100% pass, 53% A-A*).

The academy has established very high quality teaching where every student succeeds. The impact of the academy’s unique specialisation in music and mathematics is highly evident. The students are very proud of learning a ‘big band’ instrument and really enjoy music making.”
