This is an exciting opportunity to join our outstanding, forward thinking, dynamic, successful and oversubscribed school. We base our work on a strong Christian ethos, value the contribution made by all and deliver high quality learning experiences within a caring environment.

At St James’s, we are all learners and constantly aim high in all that we do. We are delighted to have been awarded Teaching School status in September 2013 and strive to develop ourselves and others. Our school has been judged as outstanding in December 2011 by Ofsted and SIAMS in December 2016.

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to lead our high achieving English department working alongside our Head of Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with leadership experience in English or a classroom teacher who is taking their first leadership role. You will join a vibrant, high achieving department. In 2017 91% of our students achieved a GCSE qualification grade 9-4 with 29% of students achieving the highest grades (7-9). The ideal candidate will be an excellent teacher who aspires to lead their own English department in the near future.

This position is suitable for teachers seeking leadership opportunities in an outstanding school.

Our school is currently in the final and exciting stages of forming The Bishop Fraser Trust, which includes St James’s CE High School, Canon Slade School and Bolton St Catherine’s Academy. We believe that in the near future, strong candidates may be able to seek permanent employment through The Bishop Fraser Trust. We envisage the Trust forming in December 2017

St James's is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. Successful candidates are subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
