Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Second in English to join our friendly and supportive English department.

The school is currently operated by Outwood Grange Academies Trust on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council and it is due to become Outwood Academy Easingwold during this academic year. Work has begun in bringing about the rapid improvement in attainment, progress and behaviour that allows teachers to teach and students to succeed. The successful candidate will be able to access the extensive advice, support, resources, CPD and career opportunities available in the academy and across the Outwood Grange Family of Schools.

In English, students are being prepared for the WJEC/Eduqas GCSEs in English Language and English Literature, and at A level, AQA Language, AQA Literature B and WJEC/Eduqas Media Studies.

This is an opportunity to join a school at a crucial stage in its development and be part of that rapid improvement, transforming the life chances of the young people in our care.

The successful applicant will have a track record of strong classroom practice, have a genuine regard for the achievement of young people and high professional standards.

Easingwold School is an 11 – 18 school north of York, adjacent to the A19, giving easy access from both the York area and Teesside.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust provides a high quality learning and cultural environment that inspires and motivates children. Leadership development, succession planning and capacity building are also major priorities for the Trust. The Trust offers staff the chance to apply for leadership positions working across the academy, and opportunities for professional development and career progression across the Family of Schools.
