Claverham Community College is looking to appoint a Teacher of English to be Second in Department, to assist with the leadership of our successful and highly motivated English Team.

The successful candidate will be:

• An excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations;

       possible levels of achievement;

       high quality Teaching and Learning. 

The College serves a mainly rural catchment area within East Sussex, is consistently oversubscribed, has achieved above average Progess 8 Scores and holds an Ofsted rating of Good.

Claverham Community College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Battle, East Sussex. There are approximately 1,168 students at the school between the ages of 11-16.    

Claverham Community College opened in 1973, developed from Battle County Secondary School and is on the grounds that belonged to the Battle Abbey Estate, adjacent to the Battle of Hastings site.

The secondary school wants students to have the best chance of succeeding and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities for them to expand their skillset outside of class, ranging from sports clubs to drama productions. School trips around the local area and abroad are also organised to give another dimension to their learning.
