The Cavendish School is very proud to be relaunching as a brand new academy in September 2018, as part of the Future Academies Trust. The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher and an inspirational leader with a commitment to professional development. You will be responsible for ensuring every student achieves academic excellence.

As we join Future Academies we will need to grow our EBacc offer in our curriculum throughout the school. With this in mind and a higher intake for our Year 7 in September 2018, we will need to increase our staff body in certain subjects.

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic, determined and creative Second in Departments with responsibility for a key stage (to be determined on appointment). This is an exciting full time opportunity to work alongside our Leader of Science and our established Director of Learning within a professional and collaborative faculty team. We pride ourselves on being a dedicated Science Faculty, innovative and committed to driving change. We are committed to all students making progress and the sharing of ideas, good practice and resources.

We are looking for a candidate with resilience, determination and the ability to be consistently reflective and to adapt their practice. Experience of supporting and leading colleagues in development is highly desirable.

We currently deliver AQA Combined Science and AQA Single Sciences. At A level we deliver OCR Physics, AQA Chemistry and Edexcel SNAB Biology.

The successful candidate will have;

  • A passion for teaching Science;
  • Experience of teaching KS3 and KS4 Science;
  • The ability to raise achievement in KS4;
  • The ability to demonstrate that they are creative in the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons;
  • The highest aspirations & expectations for your students, yourself and our academy.
