Secondary English Teacher - ICS City Centre

About the Position

As our Secondary School continues to expand, ICS City Centre is looking to appoint an exceptional KS3, 4 and 5 English teacher to join our talented team. We’re looking for the right blend of energy, enthusiasm and experience alongside a background of developing pupils and supporting their growth. The successful candidate will be able to teach general English in KS3 and then a specialist area at GCSE and A-level. Experience teaching Drama would also be of use as our Secondary school continues to expand.

We are looking for teachers to expand the existing English department at an exciting time as we open our first A-level cohort in August 2022. You will work as part of a wider team, sharing the planning, and supporting each other in your daily roles. A generous amount of release time is provided to enable excellent planning and assessment to occur during the school day. Weekly meetings ensure continuous professional development and time to engage with peer led learning.

The successful applicants will have the following attributes:     

• A certified teaching qualification and an accompanying degree such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE with a English specialism.     
• At minimum 2 years of recent and demonstrable English teaching experience at a British Curriculum School     
• Confidence in teaching English Language and Literature from KS3 into GCSE and A-level     
• The desire to provide Outstanding teaching and learning     
• Knowledge of Google classrooms, google drive and the associated programs would be desirable  
• Experience teaching Drama would also be a desirable

A leadership role may be available for the correct applicant.

About ICS City Centre (Branch 1)

We are an English Curriculum School centrally located in the heart of Abu Dhabi Island. Branch 1 is entering into its 9th year. We began as a Primary school and are expanding into a five form entry through school, adding Secondary year groups one year at a time. Year 12 will be added for August 2022 and will be the first cohort to sit for the A level syllabus.
