Job overview

The Perse School Singapore is a British International School and is the first international school collaborating with The Perse School, Cambridge UK. Founded in 1615, Perse Cambridge has 400 years of educational excellence and tradition.

Perse Singapore has adopted the values espoused by Perse Cambridge:

  • Endeavour which means we aim high and challenge ourselves, try our best and are not afraid to make mistakes.
  • Intellectual curiosity and scholarship which means we love learning, thinking deeply and being creative, and welcome reasoned debate.
  • Breadth and balance which means we are involved, engaged, and committed, and take full advantage of the opportunities we are given.
  • Respect one another and our environment which means we each play our part in creating a kind and considerate community, and we care for ourselves, each other, and those in need.

The values and the strong collaborative links with Perse Cambridge allow Perse Singapore to offer a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum and to provide unique and rich educational experiences for children. With the support including advice and learning assets from Perse Cambridge, Perse Singapore adopts the Cambridge International Curriculum, and adapts it to the Singapore context. The Cambridge International Curriculum encourages both curiosity as well as academic rigour, in alignment with Perse’s values.

Children in Perse are expected to live out the values. They will ask challenging questions, will have a voice and will take full advantage of the opportunities within and beyond the classroom. They will be respectful, thoughtful and empathetic. They will develop a life-long love of learning and in a diverse society like Singapore they will acquire an international mindset.

Perse Singapore is a member of Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA). As FOBISIA aims to promote a British style education system in schools in Asia, teachers will have opportunities for professional development. In addition, the children will have the opportunity for collaboration and friendly competition through FOBISIA’s annual sporting and musical festivals.
