Job overview

Instituto Bilingüe VICTORIA provides inclusive, bilingual British education from Nursery to 6th Form for students aged 2-18 years. We are a small international school, founded in 1993, with approximately 540 pupils. VICTORIA is located in the heart of Mexico at the foot of the Sierra Gorda mountain range, only a short distance away from the up-and-coming cultural hub of Queretaro - a sound, thriving city frequently ranked as having the highest quality of life in Mexico.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic Physics Teacher who can teach from year 7 to A-Level. We follow a combination of the British National Curriculum and the Cambridge International Programme, priding ourselves on engaging, student-centred lessons. The ability to offer another subject could be an advantage.

The qualifications needed for this position include a relevant degree and a PGCE in Secondary Physics teaching. Experience teaching GCSE and AS/A-Level programmes is an advantage.

WE OFFER: a good local salary, yearly return flights, accommodation, medical cover, visa permit costs, continued professional development, planning and preparation time, opportunities for different teaching experiences and a warm, friendly work environment.

Contract Term: 2-year contract renewable by mutual consent.

Located in the state of Querétaro, central Mexico, Instituto Bilingue VICTORIA is a bilingual international school. The school was first established by a group of British and New Zealand teachers in 1993, and has seen extensive growth and redevelopment since its founding.

It currently has plans to take in over 650 students. The school currently operates on a 1.5-hectare site and is still able to boast of a number of modern recreational and academic facilities including a range of arts equipment, a full-sized football pitch which also serves as a break area, and an outdoor hard-court area.

The English and Mexican curriculums are both implemented as students move into their Primary phase of education, and Secondary school pupils’ studies culminate in sitting their IGCSE examinations, while still studying a bilingual curriculum. Students then go on to study for British Cambridge International A/AS Level examinations, thus increasing their opportunities of gaining admission to international and national universities.
