The Education Achievement Service is seeking to appoint a highly effective teacher and/or leader to the post of Secondary Mathematics Lead for the Mathematics, Science and Technology Team. In addition, the successful postholder will act as the Deputy Team Lead for the Mathematics, Science and Technology Team.

Working as part of the wider school improvement team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of specialist advisory services in their respective area for the five local authorities comprising the South East Wales Consortium: Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen. They will collaborate with their Area Lead, Challenge Advisers and school leaders to ensure the highest possible standards of achievement and, where there is underperformance in teaching and learning, work with leaders to challenge expectations and set targets for improvement.

The EAS is engaged in an exciting and challenging school improvement journey and this post offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop a key priority of the service.

  • an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and lead teams;
  • an accomplished teacher who can articulate approaches that lead to high quality learning in the classroom and demonstrate secure understanding of national priorities in learning and development.

  • athro/awes lwyddiannus a all gyfleu dulliau gweithredu sy'n arwain at ddysgu o ansawdd uchel yn yr ystafell ddosbarth a dangos dealltwriaeth gadarn o flaenoriaethau cenedlaethol ym maes dysgu a datblygu.
