Secondary Mathematics

The Wingate School is looking to appoint a Mathematics teacher for their growing Secondary school. A strong candidate would also be able to teach a second subject. The school year starts in August 2023.

Class sizes are between 20 and 24 pupils. We follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum and IGCSEs.

Regarding the candidate, we are looking for:     

• First language English speakers preferably with knowledge of the Cambridge Secondary curriculum/IGCSEs/IB-DP          
• A collegial perspective, enthusiasm and initiative     
• Sound teacher qualifications. PGCE or equivalent     
• Secondary school teaching experience     
• A cheerful, professional, hard-working and well-presented person. Please note the school dress code requires tattoos to be covered up, no visible piercings and business-casual dress.     
• An awareness of the demands of teaching an international student body and a commitment to fostering high academic achievement     
• Good communication     
• Calmness and efficiency, with the ability to work under pressure at times     
• Commitment to the all-round ethos of the School, including its co-curricular activities and School of Character approach    
• Someone who is excited about the prospect of living in Latin America and is adaptable to a new country and culture.
