We seek to recruit a highly-competent teacher of Music to teach KS3 and KS4, as well as lead our Peripatetic Music Programme.  The successful applicant will be accomplished at enthusing young Secondary students in their appreciation of the creative arts, and music in particular.  He/She will have knowledge of KS3 and KS4 syllabi.  An additional responsibility attached to this post is coordination of the Whole School Peripatetic Music Programme (Primary and Secondary) through which our students access individualised tuition in a variety of instruments including drums, flute, violin, piano, guitar and voice.  The Peri Coordinator liaises with our team of professional musicians to provide this instruction, quality assures the learning experience and coordinates performance opportunities and music examinations.

Alongside evident subject expertise, applicants ought to be confident in their use of technology in the classroom and inspire learners to appreciate how the study of Music can help to advance critical thinking and independent learning skills.   We seek a teacher who can support students in developing their understanding of relevant content and skills across the creative arts subjects, as well as foster a genuine love for learning in their classroom and through the Peripatetic Music programme.

A BSO ‘Outstanding School’, Modern English School Cairo was established in 1990 with just 26 students; today the school population stands at 2300+ students, and a staff of 180+ properly qualified and highly competent teachers. A broad and balanced curriculum is offered within all three curricula areas of our Secondary section: British (Y7-12: KS3 followed by IGCSEs, then AS/A Levels), American Section (G7-12: Middle School followed by High School Diploma and Advanced Placement courses) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP11-12). Students select options from a range of subjects to suit their interests and specialisms. We boast specialist Science Labs, Computer facilities, drama studios, art studios, music rooms, and a fully equipped Design and Technology workshop. Arabic and Religious Studies are taught throughout the school. Our students are very well prepared for higher education, achieving excellent results in external examinations compared to national and global standards; they go on to study at some of the best universities in the world.

The school is located on an impressive 32,500m2 landscaped campus in the clean and well-positioned suburb of New Cairo. The campus architecture is designed to promote a family atmosphere. The sports complex contains volleyball and basketball courts, two heated and covered swimming pools, a full-size football pitch, all-weather athletics track, gymnasium, weights and cardio room and a dance studio. A 400-seat theatre, three large multi-purpose halls and three well-resourced libraries support the pursuit of providing quality teaching and learning on campus.
