Are you a Class Teacher committed to improving the lives of children and young people? We are looking for an amazing teacher to join our fantastic team at Heath Farm School.

About the School:

We are an independent SEN school that offers a unique and stimulating environment, where every pupil is able to make outstanding progress in their personal development and enjoy success in their education.

Our students present with a wide range of needs; including social and emotional issues, learning difficulties, mental health problems and associated conditions.  However, they are able to enjoy extraordinary outcomes and be happy at school.  All classes have excellent ratios of at least 2:1 students to adults.  Typically classes have between 6-8 students.

As an independent SEN school we are far removed from the bureaucracy found in so many other schools and we are able to abandon ineffective and traditional methods in favour of new, highly effective and tailored initiatives – essentially we do what we know is right for the students in our care.

Who are we looking for?

As a Secondary Nurture Class Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for a Teacher who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

This role is suitable for both a primary teacher wanting to move into secondary but keeping the primary model of overseeing and leading the majority of teaching for that group (except for specialist subjects) OR for a secondary teacher interested in following a primary philosophy of overseeing a single classes curriculum and building fantastic, lasting relationships with a small group of children. When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best.

We are looking for a Class Teacher experienced in teaching a range of subjects and who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN/ASC environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. Educated to degree level and of Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

About the Group:

We are part of Acorn Education and Care and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

We provide Education and Care across a number of schools and residential homes nationally. Our specialist SEN provision, coupled with our expertise within residential care means we offer thousands of vulnerable children and young people across the UK a holistic, wraparound care, residential and education service, empowering them with everything they need to flourish.

We welcome staff who share our commitment to help children experience better days and better lives. Through ongoing development and training, we ensure our staff are well prepared for their jobs and given every opportunity to extend their skills.

What we can offer you:

A commitment to support you in developing new skills through a wide range of professional development opportunities and experiences

The opportunity to make a huge contribution to the education and lives of children who respond very positively to high quality teaching.

A friendly and inclusive working environment

How to Apply:

Visits to the school are strongly recommended and we are certain that you will be even keener to apply once you see the fabulous and caring approach, we take with our students along with our excellent and modern site.
