Wellington College China  is a partner of Wellington College in England.  It has three schools in Shanghai, all close to each other, not far from the heart of this exciting, international city.  Our schools provide an outstanding education for more than 5,000 local and international children aged between 2 and 18 years old. Huili School Shanghai is Wellington’s bilingual school for Chinese students, which opened in August 2016. There are now more than 1,200 pupils in Huili nursery (Early Years 1-4) and Huili School (grades 1 to 9) and this August saw the opening of our state-of-the-art high school building and the start of IGCSE courses. Over the next three years, the school is expected to grow by more than 100 pupils per year and will be offering the IBDP.   

Huili School combines Wellington’s holistic British approach to educating the whole child, with the enduring strengths of the Chinese curriculum and focus on learning. We talk about giving our pupils the best of both worlds. Half of our lessons are in English and half in Chinese. Half of our teachers are English-speakers and half are Chinese. Secondary Teacher of PE 

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and creative teacher who will drive PE and Sport at Huili School.  The post would suit an experienced teacher with QTS, a degree in Physical Education/Sport Science and proven track record of achieving excellent academic PE results and teaching inspiring PE lessons.

PE and Sport at Huili Shanghai are entering an exciting stage of development with the addition of new state of the art sports facilities. We are determined to create positive pathways that meet the demands of all our students. Facilities include: a brand-new sports hall, 25m swimming pool, outdoor basketball court, athletics track, astro playing field, dance studio and fitness suite.

Students at Huili School experience considerably more curriculum PE compared to other international and British schools. Our curriculum is dynamic and innovative and is broadly based on both international and Chinese curriculums. We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability, imagination and flair to engage and motivate our young people. Huili School will be delivering IGCSE PE for the first time next year and IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science in the near future.  The successful candidate may be required to teach IGCSE PE. Our aim is for students of all ages to have opportunities to participate in numerous sports teams and in a wide range of local, regional, and international events. The successful applicant will be involved in our extra-curricular (CCAs) clubs and sports teams.
