The British College of Gavá is a fast developing, forward-thinking and innovative school situated just south of the city of Barcelona.  Moving forward into its second year the school is expanding to cover Secondary year groups and is searching for proactive, passionate, like-minded staff to join the growing team. 

Inaugurated in September 2015, the British College of Gavá is the pilot school of a new project initiated by the ‘Education in Excellence’ brand.  The schools founders, having shared experiences directing some of the most successful groups of schools in Spain, have a vision of creating a new avant-garde group of schools that will pioneer forward-thinking educational strategies for the next generation.  After opening with over 120 students just 8 months ago, the school is developing rapidly and will have doubled in size by the end of the year.  The school’s success is based on the outstanding practice of the teachers.  It looks forward now to the next stage of development. 

Barcelona makes for an exciting place to live and work.  This city of great history and culture accommodates for a fulfilling lifestyle for people of all ages and interests.  The pleasant Mediterranean climate, location by the sea, excellent standard of living and quality of cuisine prompt many people relocating to go on to stay long term.  The school is situated just a couple of minutes south of the airport providing superb links back to the UK and all major European cities as well as many locations further afield. 

The school will be delighted to accept applications from fully qualified teachers with QTS, able to commence work in September 2016.   Applicants should have at least 3 years of teaching experience, be native English speakers and should be note that work permits cannot be obtained for non-EU citizens.

  • Submit a letter of application, of no more than 600 words, outlining teaching philosophy, reason for applying to the British College of Gavá specifically, and how you have made a key contribution in your current workplace

About The British School of Gavá

 The British School of Gavá is a private school in Barcelona, Spain. Students are taught from the foundation to secondary stage. Students follow the British National Curriculum as well as studying Spanish language and humanities. The 'integrated curriculum' approach also has an appreciation of International Baccalaureate philosophy. The British College of Gavà is part of an emerging network of British Schools established in cities around Spain including Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Málaga. 

The school has established a partnership with the Elite Tennis Academy, in order to provide the most inclusive programme possible for its student-athletes. Learners follow a rigorous tennis programme coupled with a reduced hour weekly academic education focusing on core parts of the curriculum.
