Job overview
The Internationale Schule Berlin and the Kant-Oberschule in Berlin-Steglitz are looking for Secondary Science Teachers (Chemistry, Physics and/or Biology) to join our team from the end of February 2025.
Campus Steglitz is part of the educational institution Private Kant-Schulen, which has been enriching Berlin's educational landscape for more than 65 years. The school building unites three secondary schools under one roof: while the bilingual ISB lower secondary school (German/English) provides an excellent English language education with native speakers teaching to GCSE level, our German lower secondary takes its students to the German GCSE (MSA). Our upper secondary offers A-level equivalent courses in both languages for Abitur students preparing for university.
The modern school building with its well-equipped laboratories and classrooms provides a positive learning environment for young adults. The environment is complemented by a family-like atmosphere, characterized by a friendly team of dedicated teachers, social pedagogues, psychologists, and administrative colleagues. Whether in daily lessons or in the wide range of study groups, in our all-day schools all students are given the space and educational support to develop their individual potential.
OUR OFFER:
• Modern teaching and learning equipment
• Fast administrative processes
• Personal training and mentoring
• Profession Development courses through our Kant-Akademie
• Methodological and didactic training
• Great creative flexibility in implementing your own ideas
• Excellent infrastructure for organizing school activities
• A motivated and international team
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Enthusiasm for working with young people
• Degree (Diploma/Masters) in the field of physics, chemistry and/or biology; related degrees are also explicitly welcome;
• Teaching Degree for Secondary Education: Completed university degree in the above-mentioned subjects
• Foreign university degrees must be recognized by the German state
• Excellent English language skills (C1 level)
• Basic German language skills (B2 level)
• Organisational skills
• High level of social skills
• Team spirit and reliability
The joy of educational work with young people is always at the forefront of our minds. The Kant-Akademie supports career changers during their teaching career through further training, coaching and individual mentoring so that they are optimally prepared for the pedagogical demands of everyday school life.
