Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a full time Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our successful supply teaching support team and to work in a local SEND School in the Gateshead local authority. This will be a part time / day to day role to work with and support Secondary aged students who have Autism and often complex medical needs. This opportunity will commence September 2018 and will on a day to day basis throughout the academic year.
This SEND School caters for Secondary and Post 16 students and specialises in supporting students who have Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (Moderate to Severe), moderate and complex mental health and behavioural difficulties.
The successful Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant (Part Time / Autism) will have excellent knowledge of Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and be comfortable assisting with personal care. They will also ideally will have worked with and supported Secondary students with complex SEND.
To be considered for the position of Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant (Part Time / Autism) you must:
- Have experience supporting complex young people aged 11-16.
- Be flexible with regards to availability as it may change week to week.
- Be able to work from 8:30 until 16:30.
- Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of practitioners who all pull together to inspire in what is a challenging environment.
- Ideally be Team Teach trained. If you are not, Vision for Education will provide this vital piece of CPD.
