Secondary SEND Support Assistant (Behavioural / Induction) South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear / £61.50 per day / Start Date: September 2018 

Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a full time Secondary SEND Support Assistant (Behavioural / Induction) to join our successful supply teaching team and to work in a local SEND school for Secondary students who behavioural difficulties and social, emotional and mental health difficulties in South Tyneside. This will be a long term, full time temporary position to begin in September 2018.

This is an excellent opportunity to care for students when they first arrive at the school and provide a 2-week induction programme. This is a provision that supports complex young people who require a high level of patience, commitment and empathy. The behaviour and attitude of the students can often be challenging so experience in behaviour management and being able to demonstrate an engaging approach to the induction programme is essential.

The desired Secondary SEND Support Assistant (Behavioural / Induction) will be supported by an outstanding and passionate management team and will work alongside some excellent practitioners who put the children at the heart of everything they do.

To be considered for the position of Secondary SEND Support Assistant (Behavioural / Induction) you must:

  • Have experience supporting complex young people aged 11-16.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of practitioners who all pull together to  inspire in what is a challenging environment.
  • Ideally be Team Teach trained. If you are not, Vision for Education will provide this vital piece of CPD.
