Job overview

The applicant should

  • possess at least an undergraduate Honours Degree in English Language and Literature and a recognised teacher certification, i.e. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Bachelor of Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent
  • have a minimum of 3 years’ Secondary English Language and Literature teaching experience
  • have a passion for teaching English Language and Literature to Lower Secondary students (Secondary 1 to Secondary 3/ KS3)
  • speak English at a fluent level
  • collaborate well with colleagues on curriculum and resource development matters, as well as contribute to other departmental and school needs when required
  • have a strong commitment to professional development

 

The following qualities and experience may be advantageous but not compulsory:

  • Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA or TESOL)
  • Experience with teaching IGCSE and IBDP curricula
  • Experience teaching students with special learning needs
