Socrates Educa International School (Salou) is a prestigious international school located in Salou, south of Barcelona, in a beautiful Mediterranean environment. We are seeking a highly qualified and adaptable teacher to teach Secondary Curriculum subjects to students who are professional footballers and athletes. These student-athletes follow a structured dual-career pathway, balancing intensive sports training with their academic education. The successful teacher will work closely with the school to support their academic development which is likely to be online, supported by a teacher in the classroom, ensuring they meet educational requirements while pursuing their athletic careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of high-quality instruction in Secondary subjects to student-athletes.
- Provide academic support tailored to professional athletes, helping them manage their dual commitments.
-Track and document each student’s academic progress through detailed reports and individualized feedback.
-Collaborate with coaches, academic advisors, families and school departments to coordinate the student-athlete schedule.
-Help to adapt teaching methods to accommodate varied learning needs and the demands of sports training.
-Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and time-management skills among student-athletes.
-Support students with guidance for future university and professional pathways
Requirements:
✔ Fluent in English (spoken and written)
✔ Intermediate level of Spanish (B1-B2)
✔ Resident in Spain with the legal right to work. With UE Passport.
✔ Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and teaching qualification
✔ Experience working in multidisciplinary environments (education, sports, academic advising, etc.)
✔ Knowledge of Higher Education opportunities and application processes in Europe and the US.
✔ Strong organizational and coordination skills to support student-athletes effectively.
✔ Ability to mentor and guide professional footballers and athletes, ensuring their academic progress.
✔ Adaptable and innovative in balancing academic instruction with high-performance sports training.

Socrates Educa International School Salou is an international school in southern Catalonia which opened in 2012.
