Job overview

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic teachers. Please get in touch as soon as possible for immediate start.

Ardfern School has created a deliberately alternative setting to deliver quality education to young people whom have struggled in mainstream schools.

With small class numbers, and access to resources, successful candidates will be encouraged and supported to lead their own subject area, as well as engage in cross curricular opportunities throughout the school year. Being situated conveniently in the centre of the community, the opportunities for public and outdoor learning are endless.

We look forward to meeting energetic and passionate teachers with a desire to engage a diverse group of pupils whom find it difficult in a conventional setting.  There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the young people at the heart of the organisation.

The position will also offer excellent opportunities to work with parents, carers, and professionals involved in the lives of the young people attending Ardfern School.

In the case of successful candidates for teaching positions, they must be GTCS registered (or eligible for registration), and all successful candidates must be willing to take part in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training, which will be provided by the organisation.

All posts are regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.

All post has a minimum requirement of two reference, which must include your current or most recent employer.

Applicants should send their CV to the Operations Manager:
andrewtelford@ardernschool.org.uk

Further information can be found on the school’s website, or by contacting 07800 858199. Closing date: Tuesday 10th December 2019
