Secondary Teacher of English with potential for Head of Department

The Benalmádena International College is a modern and dynamic British school located in Nueva Torrequebrada, just off the N340 road between Benalmádena Costa and Fuengirola.

The college has an area of 17,500 square metres and is situated only three hundred metres from the beach. The school is purpose built and consists of four buildings: Infants and Primary, Secondary, Cafeteria and Games Room. We currently have over 300 students and 25 different nationalities and many of these children can speak several languages before they reach the senior school.

The college has been officially inspected and approved by a team of British Inspectors from the British Council (certificate number 2011/38) and we are also registered and licensed with the Spanish Education Authority (centre number 29001078), which allows the college to teach students to university entrance level.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Work in collaboration with colleagues to plan, deliver and assess lessons for your classes
• Deliver engaging, current and challenging lessons that will allow students to fulfil their potential and create a passion for English
• Foster responsible learners by facilitating timely and formative feedback through which your students develop a sound understanding of where they are in their learning and what their next steps should be
• Contribute to the life and  work of the Secondary School as a whole

Your qualifications:

• A degree in English
• A teaching certification or qualification
• Teaching experience of Edexcel IGCSE and  A Level would be an advantage
