Founded in 1971 and opened as a family-oriented British School, it was one of the first of its kind in Madrid. Today, it is based on five sites in central Madrid and has nearly 1000 pupils. Hastings School follows the National Curriculum for England and also teaches in Spanish the two compulsory subjects indicated by the Spanish Ministry of Education. The school follows a creative, topic curriculum in the Primary section based on stories from all over the world. In the Secondary section pupils prepare for IGCSE examinations, AS and A Levels within the British system  as well as Spanish university examinations.

Hastings School is looking to appoint a full time Secondary Teacher of  Science (Physics specialist desirable) from 1st September 2018. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a relevant degree in Physics/Engineering or a relevant subject and a UK approved PGCE. A minimum of 2 years experience teaching general science to KS3,  IGCSE, and preferably Physics to AS/A2 level although other subjects will be considered with evidence of excellent exam outcomes.

Bespoke semi-individualised tracking of students using baseline data to achieve outstanding outcomes and strong IT skills (including VLEs, Microsoft classroom, touch-screen casting and the SIMS MIS system) is a must.
