St Patrick’s College embraces its motto of ‘Seek and Serve Christ’. It enjoys a rich history built on the Sisters of Mercy and Christian Brothers, St Patrick’s College is a co-education Catholic College with a combined current enrolment of approximately 1500 students. St Patrick’s College offers a unique experience for students, consisting of a dual campus concept catering exclusively for Years 7 to 10 at the Mercy Campus and Years 11 to 12 at the Senior Campus. Our students are encouraged to excel in personal growth and faith development in a learning environment that offers a broad-based curriculum. Our staff work collaboratively with students and their families in an attempt to challenge students to become active learners to prepare them for success in a variety of pathways.


Mackay, Queensland is located 970 kilometres north of Brisbane with a population of over 125,000. Mackay is known as the sugar capital of Australia and for our beautiful beaches and close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands.


What we are looking for:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the full-time teaching positions to from Term 2, 2023. Teachers who have the ability and willingness to teach subjects across dual campuses of junior and secondary and have a willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school are encouraged to apply. 


The ability to teach any or a combination of the following senior subjects would be advantageous:-



  • Digital Solutions / Information Technology

  • English Subjects

  • Mathematical Subjects

  • Science Subjects

  • Religion Subjects

  • Legal Studies

  • Art

  • Vocational Education and Training Subjects


The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to providing quality Catholic education and learning based on a personal faith as well as be a highly trained and qualified professional with significant experience in the provision of high-quality educational programs. You will have well developed organisational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work well in a team, as well as the ability to work independently.


Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:



  • a commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school

  • ability to teach in subject areas listed above

  • a commitment to the extra-curricular activities
