Secondary Teaching Assistant

The Role  

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Teaching Assistant to join our Secondary team.  

The successful candidate will be someone with a commitment to King Solomon International Business School (King Solomon) ethos and value, a willingness to work and the flexibility to support the achievement of all students. 

It is essential that the candidate demonstrates that they have the students’ well-being at the forefront of all that they do.   

The candidate will be expected to promote and practise safeguarding in relation to the welfare of the children they come into contact with and therefore an extensive knowledge and understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures and legislation is essential.   

What we are looking for  

The successful candidate will: 

• be able to work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes,
• have experience of working in partnership with class teachers in Secondary to deliver ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ classroom practice
• have a good understanding of effective learning, good quality feedback and how to support learners to make good progress.
• have a commitment to working in teams and sharing good practice.
• be creative, dynamic and inspirational with ability to support some children with special educational needs.
• a specialism in literacy would be preferred
• promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education and ethos as a Christian school.

Our School 

King Solomon is a popular free school which opened in 2015 in the heart of Birmingham City. King Solomon is a multi-denominational Christian school which, when fully established, will provide education, with a business emphasis, for pupils aged from 4 – 18 years old. The school currently has Reception, Year 1, Year 7 and Year 8 cohorts and will be enrolling new cohorts of Reception and Year 7 pupils in the 2017 September entry.  

King Solomon is affiliate to The Woodard Corporation which contains some of the highest achieving schools in both the public and private sectors.
