Newton Prep is a leading co-educational day school for pupils aged 3-13 years located in short walking distance of Battersea Park and Queenstown Road BR stations.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive flexible administrator to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Deputy Head - Academic. The post holder will report on a daily basis to the Deputy Head - Academic and will work as a member of the Administrative team with dotted line reporting responsibilities to the Bursar.  Duties include the responsibility for all the administrative arrangements associated with In-service training, staff appraisal, school examinations, school photographs; as well as a range of other administrative tasks such as compiling meeting agendas, typing minutes, filing and data input.

This key role requires initiative, strong organisational skills, an eye for detail and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office combined with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.  Applications are invited from candidates who have had a proven track record in office administration and secretarial support ideally in a similar role, and who are able to work under pressure with minimal supervision. The ability to work flexibly and as part of a small team are also essential pre-requisites of this role.

This position has arisen as the result of the forthcoming maternity absence of the permanent post holder and is expected to be for approximately one year, commencing January 2020.  This position is term-time only (35 weeks) plus 3 weeks (the week before the beginning of the Autumn term, the first week of the Christmas holidays and an additional five days to be spread across the year).

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30 - 17.00 during term time and 8.30 - 16.30 during school holidays. Salary is on a range (£21,194 - £24,796) dependent on skills and experience.
