Job overview

Based within our successful School of Sport, Travel and Public Services, we are seeking to appoint a Section Manager for Sport.  Full time courses currently offered by the section include Pearson BTEC Levels 1 to 3 in Sport, Coaching and Fitness whilst a number of different additional qualifications are also delivered from alternative awarding bodies such as 1st4Sport and Sports Leaders.  You will develop provision, including overseeing the development of HE and Commercial courses, teach on a range of programmes and line manage a team of teaching staff.

You should be qualified to degree level in the relevant subject area and possess an advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (DET, PGCE or equivalent), together with at least 3 years’ recent teaching experience in the subject area.  You should also have some curriculum development and co-ordination experience, and some experience of leading a team.
