Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and accomplished pianist to join our team of self-employed visiting music teachers at Dumpton. The right candidate will have experience of teaching pupils aged 7-13, experience with preparing pupils for exams and performances, and will be keen to be a part of a thriving team of music professionals. Candidates may also be willing to support the department as an accompanist and may be offered additional hours accompanying performances or exams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       To be comfortable with teaching from Year 1 to Year 8 as required

·       To liaise with the Director of Music to promote the teaching of music throughout the school

·       To prepare pupils as appropriate for instrumental and music theory examinations

·       To assist in the preparation of pupils attempting music scholarships

·       To assist with music concerts throughout the academic year and to prepare pupils for Music Assemblies as requested (approximately one a term)

·       To ensure that appropriate Health and Safety and hygiene procedures are implemented

·       To understand Safeguarding Children and report any concerns or observations to the Designated Safeguarding Lead

This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and the employee will be required to perform duties outside of this as operationally required and at the discretion of the Headmaster
