SEMH Leader (Specialist Resource Provision).

Tes is currently supporting a friendly secondary academy, based in Richmond upon Thames. The school is looking to add a SEMH Leader of Specialist Provision to its progressive academy ideally starting in January 2022.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of Specialist Resource Provision across all year groups.  You will support the SEN department (SEMH) and wider school to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. 

“The Academy completed a £10m rebuild and refurbishment programme, including the introduction of a 6th form in 2014. Our 2018 Ofsted reported that we were a ‘Good’ school in all categories. The inspectors judged: “Staff feel well supported and happy to be part of the drive for improvement”.

We are looking for a qualified, specialist SEMH teacher to manage our Specialist Resource Provision, ensuring every child achieves the highest academic standard through high quality teaching of a curriculum to include essential life skills, so that they are fully equipped and prepared for the world of work when that time arrives. You will be line managing the support staff who work within the Provision. We need you to inspire others, work collaboratively within the academy to help colleagues to develop and improve their practice for the benefit of the students to ensure the continued success of this department and the Academy on our journey to ‘Outstanding’. You will embody the Academy’s ethos for the delivery of outstanding teaching and be an ambitious, committed and hardworking team player who can inspire and motivate others, be a problem solver as well as a highly effective communicator."

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as NPQML and MA in Educational Leadership

• progression support throughout the school and wider group

• support package for NQT’s/RQT’s including CPD and NQT mentorship;

• the chance to take on further responsibility such as TLR or Leadership roles in the future.

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant Education Degree or a related subject

• experience of delivering education to SEMH learners, pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• a love and passion for education.
